I agree with Cleaver's quote because if you are doing nothing to help solve a problem, you are allowing that problem to expand and grow. You don't care for the issue making it an issue and vice versa. If you are trying to solve the issue then you are making it smaller and dying it down. There is no way you could be part of the problem then.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Cleaver's quote because bystanders are almost as bad as the perpetrators. This is because of the simple reason that if you stand by and watch an issue then you are allowing this issue to continue becoming part of the problem and not the solution. Which shows that there is a clear line between a problem solver and a problem enabler.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Cleaver's quote because as an individual we have the power to help put an end to a certain problem, but also to further expand the problem. I agree because you can never be neutral with problem solving, you can favor an issue or you can help end the problem.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with Cleaver's quote because people who just stand around and watch the situation happen without taking any actions, are just as bad as the people who are making the problem bigger and worse. Just for the simple fact that people our age or younger think that they can't do anything about the situation because they are too young and aren't capable of change, is what drives the problem to expand more and more. One person trying to change something, can cause a chain reaction, influencing other people to want to help in order to see justice and end the problem and the people or organisms being affected by it.
ReplyDeleteCleaver's quote is undeniably correct. When we just stand around and don't do anything to solve the problem, it just grows and expands. If a person helps a problem grow, then they technically could be considered a perpetrator, because they make the problem worse. Thus the only way to avoid being a perpetrator is to try to become part of the solution and to prevent the problem from growing, as Cleaver pointed out.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Cleaver's quote because everyone has the choice of doing something good for their community or the choice to not doing anything at all so it is indeed true that if you do something to try and solve a problem your part of the solution but if you just stand around the problem will keep growing which makes you part of the problem.
ReplyDeleteYes, I do agree with Cleaver's quote. This quote is 100% right because you are either trying to help solve a problem or you are just making the problem worse by standing around and not doing your part and being active. Taking action is an important initiative that everyone must take and if you have to be the fist person to take it, why not? Don't be part of the problem, especially if it is causing you harm.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Cleaver's quote. If you see a problem and don't do anything about it, it just keeps getting bigger. If you want to make a difference then action is taken trying to solve the problem. Progress will be made and slowly break the problem apart. so you can either feed the issue or solve it.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Cleaver's quote because if someone isn't helping find a solution then they're the reason why the problem started. When ever there's a problem, good people always try their hardest to find a solution. But there are also bad people out there who are starting problems and more problems. That's the only thing they do is start problems. So if you aren't part of the solution, you're part of the problem.
ReplyDeleteI disagree with Cleaver's quote because i believe that, in most cases, you DON'T have to be involved in an issue. It is your own choice to be part of it or not. The quote states that your either part of the solution or the problem of any given issue. Why can't you be both or neither. In an issue, even if you are involved, you still aren't stuck to one of these. You could be neutral, you might not even see a problem, and hence are not part of it, nor part of the solution. I think the quote is more of a biased propaganda. Something you could say to influence someone to join your cause, another reason i disagree with the quote.
ReplyDeleteI disagree, if you are not involved at all then you are not either side. But I do understand that if you are not doing anything to fix an issue that you are aware of then you are almost just as good as the ones causing it.
ReplyDeleteI disagree with Cleaver's quote because it reflects on society. We say we want to change society but how must society be changed if there is nothing wrong with it? There is then no issue and without an issue there is no solution, therefore you are not involved with the problem or the solution. You can clean up messes you've made or you can be neither. Being one or the other is unfair to those who weren't involved at all.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with the statement. The statement clearly speaks for people who create a solution or cause the problem. One who believes they are or can be passive or neutral in a situation, then they are terribly wrong. Even just living an everyday "normal" life, a person effects the things and people around them, unknowingly. Therefore if you are not helping then your are apart of the problem.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the quote because not doing anything to slove the problem is like letting expand,if you see something you dont agree with,its your own responsibility to do something about it or else there will never be change. Sure you could wait for someone else to do something about it but why rely on others to do what you want changed? Even if yoir the first person you have to learn to stand on your own and make change because if not you are simply letting the problem grow

But if you help and try to solve the problem then their is the possibility of the problem ceasing to exist. Essentially a person has the power to either help the problem grow or try to stop it.
ReplyDeleteI somewhat agree with Cleaver's statement. It's partly true because you're definitely a part of the whole picture, but the reason I disagree with it is because you can be part of both, not just one or the other. I have caused problems sometimes, and I worked to solve them. Even if you're not taking part in causing the problem or coming up with a solution, you're still a part of the problem by not doing anything about it.
ReplyDeleteI disagree with cleaver's quote because if your not part of the problem then maybe you don't pertain to the problem and also you could be part of both the solution and the problem, also if you just stand by and do nothing it's not like your physically making the problem worse or working to make the problem better.
ReplyDeleteI can agree with Cleaver's statement because you're either working towards a solution or neglecting the issue thus creating a bigger problem. Yes, even those who declare their stance on the issue at hand as neutral are indeed a part of the problem because the underlying cause to every problem is the lack of people addressing the issue head on to find a solution and stop it.
ReplyDeleteI agree because if you don't do something to end the issue then you are part of the problem but if you do make an effort to end the issue then you would be part of the solution. I can't see a way of being in between, it's either one or the other.
